About The Role:
As a Civil Maintenance Team Member, you’ll be part of a skilled, down‑to‑earth crew that keeps the City of Charles Sturt moving. From roads and footpaths to drainage works, no two days are the same - you’ll be out on site operating plant and equipment, pitching in with general labouring, and getting behind the wheel on a range of civil projects across the city.
You’ll take pride in work that makes a real difference to the community, delivering safe, high‑quality outcomes while working to Council’s values, safety standards and customer‑first approach.
About You:
You’re a hands‑on, safety‑minded team player who enjoys getting stuck into practical work and being part of a crew that gets things done. You bring a positive, can-do attitude to every job and are happy rolling up your sleeves - whether that’s operating plant and equipment, carrying out general labouring tasks or supporting a wide range of civil projects across the city.
To thrive in this role, you’ll have experience in civil construction and maintenance work, including roads, footpaths and drainage. You’re comfortable operating plant, equipment and hand‑held tools, communicate easily with teammates, contractors and the community, and can work just as confidently on your own as you can in a team. You take pride in working safely, managing risks and keeping accurate records, including timesheets and basic reporting.
You’ll hold a current MR Truck Licence and a White Card to get you on site, and if you’ve also got traffic management tickets, plant licences (such as skid steer, excavator or backhoe), or Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications - even better. These extra skills will help you hit the ground running and add even more value to the team.

About Our Team:
City Maintenance are equipped to care for open spaces in our beaches, reserves and parks, ensuring they are maintained and up to standard. This diverse portfolio is passionate and skilled in areas including property management and repair, irrigation, biodiversity, arboriculture, trees and sports turf, as well as program scheduling and contract support.
Civil and Property Maintenance comprises a range of teams that contribute to maintaining our roads, streets and buildings to ensure safety for our community. This includes the maintenance and repair of essential amenities through concreting, grinding, line marking, paving and drainage.
The Detail:
